Photos help more than a description does, especially of the spring and the top bracket.
What we can't price sight-unseen is anything involving spring sizing or hardware condition. Torsion springs are matched to the door's weight and cycle count, not just its width, and a lot of the stock in this area dates to the 1960s and 70s, going back as far as 1948 in older sections. That older hardware doesn't always match what's on the shelf today, and winters here sit in the cold-severe band, which adds wear on springs and openers that a milder climate wouldn't. We won't guess at a number for that kind of job over the phone - we'll give you a firm quote once we've opened the door and looked at the drums, cables, and bracket.
Work We Turn Down
We work on residential garage doors and the openers that run them - springs, cables, tracks, rollers, panels, and opener repair or replacement. We don't quote commercial rolling steel doors or gate operators, and we won't tell you a repair is worth doing when it isn't. If a door has rusted through at the bottom panel, if the track is bent badly enough that the rollers keep jumping, or if the frame itself has shifted, we'll say so and talk replacement instead of billing you for a patch that won't hold.
We also won't give a binding number for structural or framing work sight-unseen - that's a bigger job than a door swap and needs to be looked at in person before anyone commits to a price.
